We advise merchants to add electric mattress pads to their fall blanket programs. We feel they will benefit from the higher interest being shown in electric blankets.

We mentioned the new electric blanket Perfect Fit sells under license from ThermoSoft International. Pads have same features that we favor on the blanket, light weight, smooth, fine hand covering, high count sateen. Most important, the wiring is less visible and felt.

That's a vital point to sales because we feel there's a natural reluctance to sleeping over a wired appliance more noticeable in its presence.

We think merchants can sell one electric pad for every two electric blankets. That would total over 1.5 million pads this year, about three times more than sales of past years.
